Led by OARA fellow, Korcelia Saygbay, Dye & Design: Naturally Dyed Aprons for Makers is a hands-on workshop designed for artists and creative practitioners interested in exploring natural dye techniques in a functional context. Participants will experiment with color, pattern, and resist processes to create a custom-dyed cotton apron—ideal for use in the studio or creative workspace.
Natural dyeing is a cross-disciplinary, historically rich practice rooted in global traditions. This workshop makes space for experimentation, dialogue, and play—offering artists a tactile, low-barrier entry point into sustainable color practices. Participants will leave with a studio-ready apron and foundational skills to integrate natural dyeing into their own creative workflows.
